There are some folks who don’t like to nap.

I categorize them with the other “People I Don’t Understand”: The French; job-seekers with visible tattoos; vegetarians; the Los Angeles Clippers; Garth Brooks fans; and the 4,306 people that voted for Michael Dukakis in 1988.

Obviously, people who don’t appreciate a good nap simply aren’t working hard enough.

I mean, after five days a week, six hours a day, of laboring in front of the computer, my body is exhausted, my brain frazzled from all that reading, napping, and talking on the phone. Ten hours of sleep a night just doesn’t suffice. I need at least two naps over the weekend to truly be fit and rested.

Well, okay, just rested.

I’ve been napping since the day I was born, and, man, there have been some great ones along the way. Like Hank Aaron when discussing what’s the most memorable of his 755 home runs, I can’t really pinpoint one nap that sticks out as the very best or the most enjoyable. All are enjoyable in their own wonderful way.

The secret to a soothing siesta – like most everything – is in its preparation. While all nappers have their own preferences, styles, and tastes, the elements of proper respite have to be in place for the most splendid of slumbers. Let me explain the essences of my most satisfying snoozes.

First of all, there is a difference between the vacation nap and the home nap.

The best kind of nap is the beach nap. You spend an active morning on the beach in the sun with your family, or perhaps some strangers. After a hearty noon meal, you retire to solitary sleeping quarters. For the best naps, I would suggest making sure your reservation calls for a beachview on an upper floor with a sliding glass door. That way, prior to napping, you can open the sliding glass door, partially close the curtains, and have an ocean breeze for which to nap with. The bottom-floor simply won’t work, as there will be too much noise, or people wandering in occasionally to borrow a glass of water.

If it is hot at this particular beach, as most are, turn the air conditioning as low as it will go before laying down to snooze. Little-known fact: Hotels and condominiums do not charge extra for power usage. Turn down the AC, let the refrigerator door stay open for hours, leave the hair dryer on – it doesn’t matter.

For a home nap, I usually don’t have the luxury of much solitude, making the fundamentals for a perfect nap slightly different.

The prelude is basically the same – active morning outdoors, preferably a golf outing, followed by a hearty meal. Retirement is usually to my bedroom.

I am a “sleep on top of the covers” napper, so I make sure the bed is made.

Just my personal preference. I turn the TV on to something like a baseball game or Formula One racing or women’s college basketball – something in which I can’t get too interested.

The sound is barely audible. The AC is set for 68-70 (unfortunately, the hotel won’t pay my power bill – despite my pleadings), and a ceiling fan is going full-blast. A UGA afghan rests nearby in case a chill emerges. I place a dark baseball cap on my head with the bill directly over my eyes. The Land of Nod soon beckons, and it is glorious.

Do yourself a favor: Take a nap today. If you can’t seem to fall asleep, read this column three more times.

OK, so you're new to internet marketing...heres something which scared the hell out of me:

One of my first posts on this board 8 months and 3 days ago...I said I wanted to make £100,000 by the end of this year...Even I didn't believe it!

Some were sceptical, others supportive...

I cracked it this morning.

The key? I think it was that goal. All the motivational speakers said it works...goal setting that is...but you know, skeptisism is easy (but hard to spell!) I thought BS. but I also thought what the hell...so I wrote the goal down...100K by the end of the year. put it in my wallet and slapped down a post on this public forum.

Now I don't believe in religion...but at the same time, something was working here...don't know what...but something...subconsious? coincidence? who knows...

The best advice I have -

Write a goal or goals...something you can achieve if nothing was standing in your way. write it down on paper (don't just think it or they say it won't work)
too lazy to do that? open notepad and type it out! but do it.

For some reason, it will always be there in the back of your mind whatever you do...its weird...but you know...it works.

OK, so you have the ladies...they take care of themselves, make up, moisturizer, new clothes all the time...the works. basically women take care of themselves. Then you have men...no make up, no moisturizer, no new clothes. Men do not take care of themselves.

Now, why is this?

I was talking to a friend the other day who said this was due to women wanting all the power. he said he once tried on some make up and felt immediately uplifted, an amazing boost of confidence in his gut. Basically he felt great! Now this guy is 100% straight, so whats the big deal?

Well, he goes on to say how his lady friends, female co workers etc. all mocked him relentlessly for putting on some moisturiser. why would this be?

Well, he thought they were just being themselves, but, being the amateur psychologsit that he his/want to be, he decided to drill further. He now thinks that they mocked him because the makeup, new clothes etc. give women the power. they call the shots. They're the prettiest (his words!) and they like it, they like having confidence and guys having little/none. IT gieves them a power trip!

Well...yeah.

I get headaches when I play computer games these days...not good headaches, but weird ones where the pain just lingers and i'm a little disorientated for a wfew hours. Especially on games which are heavy on sound, like grand theft auto san andresa andreas. thats the worst, it was bad also in GTA vicee city, but not as bad in GTA 3 although still present. Now, modern computer games use compressed sound to save disk space and speed up processing and loading etc. but the pain has plagued an otherwise fun activity for me...then:

Nowadays technologies for lossy data compression of digital audio recordings get widely used in more and more applications. This way methods like MP3, WMA, MPEG and ATTRAC are not only used for memory saving music downloads through the internet and comfortable use on portable players, but they are also employed for background musics in modern videogames and already today they are used in ordinary radio stations to store all kinds of audio material on harddisks to permit comfortable access for broadcast. Due to such technologies are also employed in DVD films and all common digital video systems (those are widely used for TV broadcasting), and because it is even planned to replace soon the entire analogue television system with digital TV (DVB) that is based on these technologies, and also to digitize the radio broadcast this way, it is strictly necessary to precisely research on the health risks of modern data compression methods.
Unlike with compression and decompression of computer programs (e.g. ZIP), that is to say, during lossy data compression (data reduction) the original signal is not reconstructed 1:1, but to reduce the data amount, only control signals for a synthesizer programs (called CODEC) get recorded, those are optimized in a way that during rendition the CODEC can reconstruct from these an approximation of the original picture or sound signal that appears as similar as possible for the human conscious perception, but is not identical to the original signal. The danger of this exploitation of human perception flaws is that especially by lossy audio data compression sound portions get systematically destroyed, those although the brain would not pass them to the conscious awareness, are likely necessary for the human hearing's own perpetual calibration.

The basic principle of modern audio data reduction is, that is to say, to omit during storage exactly those sound portions those an average human being would not consciously perceive. The white science likes to call such methods gladly playing down "psychoacoustic", although in fact they have really nothing to do with psychology of sounds (e.g. the realization of noises as pleasant or unpleasant etc.) because their impact is on a far lower neurological level since they function on a model of the cochlea in the human ear and thus need to be called correctly "neuroacoustic" data reduction.

The cochlea ("snail") is the most important sound perception organ of humans. It consists of a liquid filled, snail shaped, spiral- like rolled up, conical tube, at which front- end the sound waves are guided from the ear drum.

To distinguish sounds, the basilar membrane is stretched inside along the entire tube, and at its full length their are very sensitive sensor cells attached to react on vibrations of the membrane.

Because the maximums of the membrane flexion are not sharply focussed at one spot but the travelling waves always also excite membrane zones nearby, and because after a loud noise after- vibrations (resounds) persist on the membrane for a short duration, the hearing processor fields* of the brain contain very finely co-ordinated compensation circuits, those filter away all weak signals from these places because the side resonances otherwise would occur in the conscious perception as annoyingly roaring interference noises. Due to these compensation circuits it is generally not possible for humans to consciously perceive quieter tones simultaneously or briefly after loud tones at a frequency nearby, because they are filtered away together with those unwanted interferences.

The lossy (neuroacoustic) audio data reduction does now basically nothing else than to simulate the interferences of the cochlea and their compensation circuits in the brain. For this it separates during recording the sounds by filters into many frequency bands and evaluates for each band how strong its perceptibility would be disturbed ("masked") by simultaneous or after- roaring loud sounds on nearby frequency bands (i.e. basilar membrane zones). Then the as best perceivable evaluated frequency bands get encoded with high sample resolution, worse perceivable frequency bands with correspondingly lower sample resolutions, and all sounds below a fixed threshold of perceptibility simply don't get encoded at all but are omitted to save memory and transmission bandwidth. During rendition the given samples are simply mixed together at their corresponding frequency bands again, whereby all sound portions those were omitted during recording stay naturally lost. Since the CODEC fools the hearing processor fields of the human brain by its "hearing- correct" selection, this way audio recordings can be reduced to less than 1/20 of their initial data amount without a noticeable loss of much quality. But a continuous consumption of datareduced audio could possibly lead to fatal consequences - this needs to be estimated particularly critical in view to the planned replacement of the analogue radio and television broadcast standards by digital successors (DAB, DVB).

Data reduction and DRM - a hazard for aural acuity?

The human hearing is an extremely finely co-ordinated cybernetic system, which is in many respects superior in its efficiency to electronic noise recognition systems - so it e.g. can successfully listen to a single voice among background noises and many simultaneous discussions, which even the most advanced manmade machines still can't compete. Like most biological systems it depends however for this on perpetual calibration by external signals (exactly like our speech ability, which as well known after deafness degenerates horribly fast into hardly understandable mumbling). Also the compensation circuits against the resonance interferences of the cochlea therefore require most likely for correct function continual calibration by a variety of naturally built up noises.

From the view of neuronomy* it is therefore to classify, although not as acutely dangerous, at least as very precarious that a wider and wider spreading audio transmission technology for data reduction just systematically removes those spectral sound portions at the auditory threshold, on those normally the hearing processor fields of our brain decide whether they shall be perceived or filtered out, because so the signal for their self calibration is missing, whereby at longer term a maladjustment of the hearing processor fields can threaten. The cochlea and its compensation circuits, that is to say, form a very complex cybernetic system, in which not only disturbing signals are filtered out afterward, but instead the compensation circuits in the brain continuously send compensation signals through additional nerve lines back to the cochlea to change the fluid pressure in the sensor cells (so-called "hair cells"**) and this way control their sensitivity (operating point) separately for the individual frequencies. This way maladjustments of the compensation circuits have a direct influence on the operativeness of the cochlea itself and thus can disturb the perceptibility of sounds already at the very beginning of the signal processing chain.

**) The construction of the sensor cells resembles rather liquid filled long balloons, those at their sensitive end form a sort-of beard consisting of condom- like appendices with ion channels, those touch the tectorial membrane to detect its vibrations. Thus these very delicate cells have no similarity with simple "hairs" .
A maladjustment here could possibly even destroy the sensor cells itself by overload, so far the compensation circuits successlessly attempt to drive the operating point of particular sensor cells higher and higher when they don't receive from these the expected signal pattern for a certain sound (e.g. because the expected spectral signal component was removed by data reduction).

Whether such destructions indeed can happen by data reduction is unknown, but all nerve cells generally react extremely delicate on overload by continuous high intensity signals, because in the cell the automatic self- repair mechanisms those are crucial for their survival run out of energy by this, which typically destroys the cell already after few minutes. And such a fatal signal could theoretically also be generated by the compensation circuits when due to data reduction they fail to detect an expected spectral sound component and therefore attempt to increase the operating point of the affected sensor cells until they finally produce a (continuous) static signal. (I don't claim here that this destruction unavoidably happens, but by the functionality of the human hearing this would be comprehensible.) To survive overloads, overloaded neurons tend to reduce their own sensitivity by removing many of their neuro- transmitter receptors as an emergency measure. When this happens with the sensor cells of the cochlea, the result would be an at least temporary worsened aural acuity.

Possible consequences of intensive consumption of datareduced audio material could therefore include ear noises (tinitus), a general degradation of the perception of quiet sounds, as well as a worsened timbre perception (a so-called "tin ear"), which would make the human of the cyberage even more insensitive than he already yet has become by the continuous mass media infotrash bombardment he is exposed to. Some listeners of MP3 music e.g. report to realize, that after longer listening of MP3 they start to perceive its typical sound flaws (so-called artifacts) also in unreduced musics, which suggests that MP3 maladjusts the hearing in a way that datareduced and unreduced sounds start to sound the same way wrongly while the hearing unlearns to recognize the difference. Actually it is still unclear whether the consequences of such maladjustments are only temporary (similarly like seeing the world discoloured in green/ red after taking off red/ green 3D glasses) or if the continuous consumption of neuroacoustically datareduced sounds can lead to long lasting or even permanent damage.

A possible advantage of the data reduction characteristic to remove all sound portions classified as "inaudible" could otherwise even be that one could clean with it supposingly contaminated audio material (as for instance propaganda from dictatorships) from so-called subliminals (i.e. hidden hypnotic suggestion messages those are intended to get into the brain without getting into conscious awareness) before listening. The sound carrier industry plans however with their DRM campaign (digital rights management) to mix into any commercially distributed audio recordings so-called "digital watermarks", those as an artificial and likewise allegedly not consciously audible sound portion shall contain digitally readable copyright information those besides copying onto analogue cassettes shall even survive the mentioned neuroacoustic data reduction. How a so persistent, artificial signal that repeats over the entire length of an recording affects brain and hearing is very uncertain, and I expect that at least the sound quality will degrade from it (much like with those artificial press faults on some "copy protected" audio CDs, those actually violate the "Red Book" standard for CDs and already therefore don't belong into commerce since these constitute defective products declared as audio CDs).

I personally own mainly cheap CDs and phono records, but almost no downloaded MP3 musics. I have however some computer games with MP3 music, but I don't play them excessively. Despite I generally listen to music only quietly, I have repeatedly tinitus; this happens particularly often when I fall asleep while watching TV, even when the sleep only lasts few minutes. I thus also suspect the data reduction in radio and TV broadcasts as a cause, not least because the hearing uses particularly the sleep for calibrating itself, during that the presence of neuroacoustically datareduced tones thus should be particularly harmful.

Nevertheless I try here in no way to demonize MP3 in the name of the sound carrier industry, because most music CDs are definitely 2 to 4 times overpriced and everybody who practices by downloading private "self law" against the sound carrier industry has my solidarity. In principle I find the possibilities of data reduction even very good, because it makes the system of music publishing more democratic, since by the internet now also hobby musicians so finally get a chance to spread their works world- wide. Even myself however would by my current knowledge still dare to publish sometime composed music pieces by me on the internet using MP3 or Vorbis/ Ogg data reduction (but with a warning hint not to listen to them excessively). In spite of this I consider the negligently increasing spread of neuroacoustic data reduction critical, since nobody has yet analyzed the health consequences, and of all by the nationally planned introduction as new TV and radio broadcast standards a future avoidance will become almost impossible. Also the more and more increasing rate of hearing damages with young people may not only originate from the high volume, but partly also from the data reduction employed in the musics they consume, because this is the first time in the history of evolution, that the human hearing becomes confronted with a quasi- intelligent technical opponent player, who similarly systematically cheats the hearing's compensation circuits and abuses them for his own purposes, like in nature the most disastrous and sick making viruses do with the human immune system.

Possibly the hazards of data reduction could be reduced already by improving the CODECs in such a way that they replace during rendition the omitted spectral sound portions by synthetically computed portions to emulate the spectral behaviour of natural noises well enough for the calibration of the hearing processor fields. But here definitely exists acute research need, therefore I request hereby all politicians and neuroacoustics scientists to be concerned with the danger potential of neuroacoustic data reduction and to postpone the abolishment of the analogue radio and TV standards until all risks have been clarified.

Volvic water cough coughing coughs and plastic poinening related?

I drank volvic, from the bottle (the small ones)...because I don't like the chlorinated taste and or smell of tap water...Then I stopped about a year ago for a reason I can't recall. Then I started drinking it again. Now I have a really terrible dry cough, kinda like when a dog tries coughing up a hairball sort of cough...really bad...worse at night and if I sleep on my front (stomach) particularly bad if the volvic is drunk late at night like around after 6pm ish. So now I will stop again since I think thats the reason I stopped before.

(so lower and middle support higher - lower buy their products for no reason and middle buy higher products to get to where they are at, they buy INFO products, remember knowledge IS power)

2 . middle class - this is those who have an ounce of the new intelligence. The realisation that it IS a race to the top of a mountiain. The conditions get harsher, you gotta keep going. The race is on. These are also the testers, the innovators. Best advice I ever listened to was "just do it" you hear it everywhere, but seriously, just do it, buy a domain (namecheap.com .info for $2.88), grab some hosting (£1 a month betterwebspace.com) and fire up notepad and start building webpages...they don't have to be flash yet, that'll come with practice. but like I said, do it now, set yourself a time limit (1 hour is best) so that in 1 hour from RIGHT NOW! you have a page up and running...

Do not EVER set a time limit over a sleep period. Sleep calms the mind, slows it down, lulls it into thinking everything is OK and peaceful. Then when you wake up, you won't have even half the drive and determination you had before. Set a time limit in HOURS FROM NOW. not days, weeks, months or even years!

The average american adult spends 7 hours in front of the TV every DAY! Jes louise guys, get a grip! The thing is, this is an average...so theres some people who watch 1 hour, some who watch 13 hours of TV...thats mucho grando TV-o hombre!

Anyway, Its about consistency. If you are consistent, ie. the same guy or gal every day doing the same thigns its comfortable for others, they don't see you change so they know what to alk about with you. They also trust you more, because obviously, if something changes then how can youtrust that thing to be the same as they are now! So trust is the key here...but then we have...

It goes back to power. People like power, it gives a rush (trust me ;) )

Well...The way I see it is this.

If you don't buy a ticket, your chances of winning are = 0
If you do buy a ticket, your chances of winning are 1 in XXXXXXXX (I read somewhere the UK lotery has a chance of 1 in 14 million, so lets use that here) 1 in 14,000,000 = 7.14x10^-8

If you buy 2 tickets, you have odds of 2/14,000,000 = 1.4x10^-7

The difference between 1 ticket and 2 tickets is = 1/14000000.

So the odds increase the same amount. It gets interesting when we remember we get a prize for winning. Using this, we can calculate the true risk, and in doing so will see that it IS MUCH better to buy 1 lottery ticket than nothing at all.

1/1000000 = 1/1000000
2/1000000 = 2/1000000

With a returd (return) of 1 mill (one million) on a win (not counting little prizes etc...) it seems better to buy 1 ticket.

So buying more than 1 ticket is pretty stupid, since your increasing of your odds are very low. But its still better to buy 1 ticket than to buy nothing at all right? Better to have a chance than no chance. Better to take the risk than not.

Freckles or "freckle/" as the french call them occur as patches or spots on the skin.

Do not worry though, they are usually (ie. in most cases) harmless, however, they may become moles. Now, i'm no medical professional and you should really be talking to one of those if you are worried rather than looking for information on the internet. They are trained professionals, like dermatoligists (they deal only with skin complaints, that is their speciality :) )

Yes, woohoo it is here. Just got GTA san andreas. Its a good game, could have been better though. The only problem is all the missions are soo much work it makes it pretty boaring to play through. I'm on mission 24 or 25 or something. the one where tenpenny tells you to go to the russian guy in the docks whos importing/exporting all the cars. Another thing that is bad about this game is all bad people who stole the game. I always buy the GTA games because I like them. I have GTA3, VC and SA.

Another thing I like about SA (that short for san andreas genius!) is that you can just drive around and around without doing anything...but its hard finding a fast car, bacause once you get a fast car, you end up driving fast and crashing it! then the game slows down again wile you go lookng for a fast car again. (Fast car is also a song sung by tracy chapman ;) )

There is a LOT of swearwords in this game and raism too...so its a definite nono for kiddies...the guy in the game shop said he may have sold the other 2 (GTA3 and VC (vice city) ) to kids but their was no way he would sell SA to them...its THAT bad. Parents, note this game will not make your child a loony, but it wont exactly help him or her to become a model citizen!

My First Success Online

I've been part of this forum for some time. I don't post a lot, just once in a while, when I think maybe I have something of value to say, which let's face it is probably less often than what I believe.

As I read the posts I see a lot of people trying to get started and I thought, "Why don't I post my first success and how I did it."

Part 1 - A Silly Idea

4 years ago I was sitting at my computer thinking of something fun to do, and a briliant idea came to me. I call it brilliant because I rarely get ideas, so my bar was pretty low. However, I thought how much fun would it be to create personalized Santa Letters to children. Ok, I know all of you are thinking that's not brilliant, that's been done, it's old, hundreds are doing it every year. Well, I did'nt know that, so I did it anyway. Then I went to Google and set up an adwords account, and being the smart dog I am, I put the keywords, "santa letters" and "santa letter" for .10 per click.

Now, I'm a self taught web designer and programmer, so I created a site which accepted information by a form. It asked the parent, the child's name, age, birthdate, what they wanted for christmas, pet's name. The form then dumped the information into a database. Sounds complicated but honestly for $300.00 you can to elance and have a professional create a much better site that does the same thing.

Next I needed the letter which I would personalize for each child. As you now realize I not much of a writer, so I went to the next most logical place, my mother-in-law. Yep, she was the best writer of all the peple I know. Certainly not a professional, but she made a nice fun poem letter for me. I took it home and using Microsoft word turn it into a form letter which once I had sales I would merge all the names into cool little personalized letters for each child.

Next I went to Staples and bought a bunch of christmas letterhead and envelopes. They had Santa on it, I thought it looked fun so I was happy.

I printed a sample letter and envelop, scanned them into the computer and put the picutres on the website so people could see what they would get.

Next I waited. As traffic came in I made some sales, slow at first, and each letter was only $5.00. However, I printed them and sent them, I was again having fun the money was not the motivation. Next I looked at my traffic and noticed that people were going to the form filling it out and then when it came time to pay left??? So being the logically guy I am, I thought if they were going to leave, why not get that out of the way first. So I changed it so people would pay first then fill out the personalization form. Sales Doubled! What I learned was people were to lazy to fill out the form. But if they bought first the money they spent motivated them to finish the process.

Finally three weeks bofore Christmas I had my entire family, including my mother-in-law, stuffing letters, and licking stamps. When it was all done, The site had run for 2 months and I was after expenses, $7,000.00 richer! Oh, by the way, I gave a refund to anyone who requested. Maybe they did'nt like the letter, maybe it was lost in the mail, maybe the dog ate. Whatever the reason I gave the money back, total return rate was 8 percent, mainly due to late arrivals from the postal service.

You'll note, no guru books, no current list, nothing to do with internet marketing as my market. I just wanted to do something I thought might be fun, and then went about doing it.

Part 2 - The marketer grows up!

So the next season starts to roll around. It start and wow, there are 20 or thirty competitors in adwords. And the click cost has gone way up, so high that I already know that I can't make money bidding that price per click. So over the year I had learned soem new business tricks. A company increases revenue three ways. 1. They introduce new products. 2. They simply sell more current products 3. They sell at a higher ticket price.

Well, I really did'nt want to introduce a new product. Sell more and losing money on each sales did'nt appeal to me, so I figured I better raise the ticket price.

I has also learned that you can charge more if you add more value. So I went to the dollar store and found the cutest Christmas bear they had. I bought them all, which was about 300. And then asked if they were getting more and to call me when they came in.

With my new bear, my new updated letter from my mother-in-law, new letterhead from staples I took some pictures and cranked the price up to $9.99.

Sales took off, twice as much as the previous year. I also sent an email to all my past customers letting them know the new letter was ready with the bear. And more sales poured in.

I took a look at my competition and noticed that prices had dropped, people were selling letters for $2.00. And here I was selling at 9.99 and going crazy.

Sales and profits were much better the second year. In the third year, I noticed that everyone seemed to be selling a stuffed toy etc, and selling for $5.00 so I jumped out of the game and started new Harry Potter Wand site selling wooden magic wand with personalized letter to wizard school. That site worked great and in the end I sold it.

Now I have been working from home ever since. I run some internet sites. One being my free Marketing Library site. I always try new ideas, often many fail, some succeed, and the successes always pay more than failures cost. So don't worry about failing it happens. My end advice is do something fun, but remember to put a price on it so you get paid. There's nothing wrong with having fun and making money.

Am I a guru? No hardly, I make a lot of mistakes, but I don't worry about it, I learn and improve. So give stuff a try, I recommend elance for stuff you can't do yourslf. I won't necessarily recommend your mother-in-law for anything, mainly because I have never met her.

OK, usa. It has been a successs. Why?

Because the people here are hard working, they have a good work ethic.

Other country, say, zimbabwe. Not so successful, why? Yes they have less useful resources (wood, water etc.) but they still have resources (oil, gold etc.) its the people. Overall, they tend to have a more relaxed work ethic. Also the greed is more prevalent, they are less willing to help another person move up. They would rather pull you down. I have seen this with my own friends and family. As well as in many other situations. A person wants to get ahead, needs a little help, suddenly the friends turn their backs on you.

So what does the future hold for the USA? Work ethic has turned to sh!, hence, depression is on its way ladies and gents, board up your windows and bring in the children, america is about to become poor...I would ask why has america suddenly turned this way, when it has been very succesful for so long? I think you know the answer to that. Degradation of the mind. I hate to say this, but rap is bad. I'm not talking good rap (eminem is pretty smart, good beats, has some good stuff to say...) I'm talking here about the other rap and r'n'b too...that cra which degrades the mind, it teaches greed and materialism. Now i'm not religious, about as far from that as one can be. But i am not blind. Maybe its the bringing in of foreign cultures...culturers which have a reputation of less work ethic, but then someone has to flip the burgers right? Its all about balence.

But then who takes its place? China. They have the education, the talent, the children, the work ethic, everything except...leadership. Once they get rid of this whole commujism thing then they'll be sitting on pearls. Pearls.

MAthemaics...An awesom subject, infinitely interesting...but what makes it super cool is that it applies so coolly to the real world.

For example, When I used to work, I was close with the MDs...First job...MD1 pulls me aside, looks at my reports, Asks me if I see anything weird...I say no...he says well, look harder...then he points out that every week we always had 50% of calls answered right away, but this week it was 48%...I said thats not a big problem...he said it is...because we were dealing with 100,000 calls a week, thats pretty dam significant!

Rule 1: Its cool how stats can predict how many times something will occur even in the face of the randomness of the universe...Choas theory I guess applies here...It still bugs me to this day how well we can predict things. Like these direct mailer guys lkike jay abraham, who send out lettershots. They know that out of every 1,000 they send out they will get 20 replies and 3 sales from them (for example) and this is always true. Similar stories for those email spammers...and the best thing is it actually is TRUE!...Send out 1,000,000 and you get 100 orders...they know it. I've said it before, but i'll say it again for anyone whos new to this blog...

Think about that. I'm not saying do a sloppy job, but on certain things, for example those that you put of for fulfilment in the future. TR says that people don't do some things which they should because they fear failing.

Well, what if you turn that fear on its head?

Its kinda like eminem in 8 mile. Remember that last rap contest he has? The one where he just lets rip with everything the other guy could have said and the other guy cho kes...well, what if you could do that with life?

I'm not saying try to chok e life, but do it inteligently. So, is their fulfilment in failing?

An example of turning something on its head: Edison and his light bulbs...he was once asked how he could stand failing so many times without fulfillment. He said I can do it because I know that each failure brings me closer to success. Think about that ladies and gentlemen. Everything you do, success or failure leads to greater fulfilment later in life. Much more. You are the product of what you did yesterday. You reap what you sow. All good quotes, all good sayings. Good stuff.

Its a numbers game.

The golden mentality is to have nothing to lose. What would you do if you had nothing to lose? I know the best day of my life came just after the lowest point. No doubt about it. Maybe theres something in that...maybe. That day I had nothing to lose, colours WERE brighter, sharper...what a day.

It is our world view that time exists. but their is no past, no future, there is only the present based upon what has happened in the future.

So now, if you think hard enough, you will come to the conclusion that time is used all over the plac in mathematics and physics and has resulted in what we see since it is so cafefully interwined into our notions and theories and equations.

So now think about the speed of light. supposedly 3x10^8. which also is the fastest anything can possibly go. The only way to get into the "past" and I use the term loosely, is to go faster thn this theoretical speed. Which all our equations tell us is not possible. The reason being that to do that would be to go back in time, which would mean that time exists in the real world.

Which it doesn't.

Its at this point that i remember what an amazing young genius wall street day trader once said to me. He said:

I believe what he said. We need to take a step back in physics, just like we did in mathematics way back in the day and start to study our fundamental beliefs our assumptions. and break them down for the rot that they are.

P.S. I think stephen hawking is pushing physics backwards, onto a different course. A bad course which is moving it away from its scientific routes into the realm of fantasy. Theoretical physics as they call it is just another word for "fantasy" take a step out of your minds guys and gals, its time for a reality check!

Hunger and the hungry

Hunger...is it good, is it bad?

Its good in small doses...here swhy:

Only eat when you are hungry, thats a given, don't over eat on the sugar, otherwise you will crave sugar when you get hungry, this is bad, you want to crave food when you are hungry!

now, once hunger sets in (you wait about an hour or two over your normal eating time) this is when you feel good...see your body starts breaking down some loose fat...you feel lighter immediately you can breath more easily...it feels GOOD.

HGH is also purported to be released into the system from this process (the hunger bit) HGH is human growth hormone, it is good. makes you younger etc. but does have dangers. See HGH DANGERS.

A little hunger is good...all round...don't over eat. Eating causes your body to break down, your cells to divide (your cells have a finite number of divisions before they become cancerous)

1 slave, master can stand behind him or her with a whip.

If you work for someone else, you cap you max earnings as long as you are working for them. You, in effect, say my time is worth Y (eg £10p/hr) for X amount of time (eg 3 years). Thats a pretty bad position to be in.

If you work for yourself, your earnings are unlimited.

I used to work, and when i did, i managed to get my entire work week, about 35 hours down to a day, or about 6 hours. I did this using macros, I would press a button and the macro (ie. the computer) would copy and paste and click the menus and generally do my work for me. The software took me about 2 days for me to make.

I then got fired because I didn' look like i was doing any work (Reading the paper) Even though i had instaleld efficiency savings of 400%+ which could not be used without me. They got all their reports in almost real time, then they fired me. Now they get them with a 3 day delay cos the new guy is "one of them"... a manual laborer worker.

Gotta love computers.
